My Target Audience

My target audience for my magazine are fans of rock and heavy metal, such as emo's, goths, headbangers and moshers. These stereotypes are what the type of magazines I have researched aim at when selling their magazines, they try to understand what these stereo types would like to see in a magazine such as Kerrang! and Rocksound. Most of these groups are related to certain celebrities, for example, emo's are related to the famous Pete Wentz bassist of fall out boy, goth's are related to the likes of Amy Lee of Evanescence. Headbangers and moshers are mixed with the likes of Slipknot because of their heavy music making everybody go mad at concerts.

This is Sammy-Jo, she is 16 years old living in London, Camden High Street, with her parents. Sammy-Jo loves rock music her favourite bands Black Veil Brides and Avenged Sevenfold she goes to festivals every year with her friends to see all these bands, when not at festivals she's at concerts closer to home which she prefers because you see more of the band than at festivals. Her hobbies include playing guitar for her band and playing their local venues, Sammy-Jo also loves dying her hair as you can tell from her photo she's a very 'color-full' person. She's not one for fashion trends but she loves shopping the likes of Drop Dead clothing, Sammy-Jo loves wearing her skinny jeans with either band shirts or graphic tees, this is typical for this part of my target audience because they match the type of music which is heavy metal and rock. Sammy-Jo relates herself to the Headbangers and Moshers because she loves bands like Slipknot and loves to let go and mosh during concerts.

Sammy-Jo loves the festival atmosphere, it is one of the big aspects that magazines such as Kerrang! and Rocksound review every year it happens. Big bands are normally asked to play at festivals such as Download and Sonisphere, so thousands upon thousands make their way to the festivals in the summer when the wether is hot and sunny. Almost over half of my target audience go to festivals whenever they can.
